GOSSIP TO GO 8/15

USH WANTS THAT DIDDY MONEY
USHER wants to take a page out of Jay-Z and Sean Combs' book and become an executive. The soulful singer cornered Warner Music honcho Steve Stoute at Vibe editor in chief Mimi Valdes' dinner party at the Maritime Hotel last week. He told Stoute he's moving to New York and "wants to really concentrate on playing a more executive role and not just be an artist," our source says. Also at the party were Sylvia Rhone, Jay-Z, Andre Harrell, Kevin Liles and Chris Chambers.
WITH A NAME LIKE BUSHNELL..YOU KNOW THE SEX WILL BE GOOD
The popular HBO series' creator, Darren Star, has snatched up the rights to "Lipstick Jungle," the latest book by Candace Bushnell (above), two months before it even hits shelves. Star, who's now working on "Kitchen Confidential" for Fox, is said to be adapting "Lipstick Jungle" for a TV show that will be like "Sex" but have older characters. It's the story of three powerful New York women — a fashion editor, a fashion designer and a producer — and their love lives. Production should start next year.
WILLIE WONKA CARTER?
The New York Post hears that Jay-Z is spending $750,000 for 500 platinum key invites made by Jacob the Jeweler for $1,500 each to the grand opening party of his 15,000-square-foot, 40/40 Club in Atlantic City on October 18th. Each key will have a number to be placed on a roulette wheel provided by Caesars Hotel/Casino, with the winner getting a Mercedes Benz TL.
LIL KIM ON FIRE
Lil' Kim has officially released "Lighters Up" as her debut single from her upcoming album, The Naked Truth. The reggae-flavored single finds the hip-hop diva singing as well as rapping (briefly) in Spanish. Kim's latest album will hit stores in September. The Naked Truth, includes production by ex-boyfriend Scott Storch (Toni Braxton, 50 Cent, Jessica Simpson) 7 Aurelius (Tamia, Ashanti), Kanye West, and newcomers Fred Wreck, Spyder, and Hot Runner. On the tracks "My Nig-as" and "So Quiet," the rapper addresses Junior M.A.F.I.A. (especially Lil' Cease) where she says her former crew was "droppin' dimes like Sprint" and "confessing like Usher."Elsewhere on the album she tackles 50 Cent and her long time rival Foxy Brown. She reaches for 50 Cent on "Spell Check," saying "Your man five-o, I don't see him in the club/ 'Cause he's out in CT with a ....," making a homosexual reference.Foxy Brown doesn't even get an advertisement. "Jacki-O proved you far from a fighter/ ... I'm not gonna come at you, I'm gonna come at your ghost writer." The Naked Truth will hit stores on September 13, just days before she will enter prison. IGNORANT SPICE?
Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham admits in the September issue of high-society magazine Chic: "I haven't read a book in my life, I haven't got enough time. I prefer to listen to music, although I do love fashion magazines." Read more.

I cant WAIT to hear the whole lil kim album. I thought it was lauryn hill at first when I heard put your lighters up... that is going to be the new brooklyn anthem... And I hope lil kim blasts them rat azz beeotches good. Fake thug mofuggas, pulling out guns but chirping like canaries... I hate that.

Brooklyn maybe 'over the bridge' but they do make good hip hop.
