GOSSIP 2 GO 11/14

IS Damon Dash running out of cash? The former Roc-A-Fella impresario has had a tough time coughing up the dough to buy a mansion in Miami. The 160,000-square-foot glass palace was built by Alan Lieberman, owner of the Catalina Hotel in South Beach (and Jason Binn's father-in-law). Dash fell for it at first sight, making an offer of $8.5 million and leaving a deposit of $100,000, less than 2 percent. However, when Lieberman pressed for the rest of the down payment and, ultimately, the balance, Dash paid another $400,000, but then withdrew his offer entirely. Dash's fork-tongued rep, Amanda Silverman, said, "He hasn't been able to look at the house because every time he tries to go, there's a hurricane." She added. "He has a bunch of other houses that don't get used."

Noel Gallagher of Oasis isn't a fan of hip-hop and tells Time Off magazine he's just not "havin' it" any longer. "I fu**ing hate it... and R&B, and all the people that make that kind of music and all the people that buy it," Gallagher fumed. "When you see the videos of some guy throwing $100 bills over a naked woman lying on a bed with a dog leash around her fu**ing neck... what the fu** is all that about? That to me doesn't seem to be right somehow. Back in the 70s/80s, if that was done by a rock n' roll band, it'd be called sexist and there'd be shock, horror and outrage. For some reason, hip-hop artists tend to get away with that. It's all about the bling and the money. The critical thing about these fu**ers is they go on about increase the peace' and getting kids to stay in school, but they're all raving crack heads. It's a fake form of music to me, and they're all a bunch of idiots anyway." Read

Jay-Z tells The New York Daily News he doesn't think the NBA's new dress code is racist or a form of censorship on hip-hop culture. "(If) they want to have a more professional look, that's well and good," the hip hop mogul, who is a part owner of the New Jersey Nets, told Ohm Youngmisuk. "But to spring it on someone as a mandatory thing in the last two weeks, that rubs me wrong a little way. It is not a classy thing to do. But if that is implemented starting next year, we have to start wearing suits and dress up, hey, the rules are the rules. As far as what I have seen, people relate to guys like Allen Iverson because they feel like he is one of them. Know what I am saying? Not too many people are walking around from where he comes from with Armani suits on." Read more of the extensive interview

L.A. Reid let MTV video his son Aaron's 16th birthday bash at the 40/40 Club for "My Super Sweet 16," the show about spoiled teens and their parties, with Jermaine Dupri and Swizz Beatz deejaying, and Kanye West and Tierra Marie performing, for the likes of Jay-Z, Sean Combs and Warner Music honcho Kevin Liles.

As previously reported, Naomi Campbell will appear on Tyra Banks' syndicated talk show today, ending the frostiness that has existed between the two veteran supermodels for the past 14 years. Banks told the New York Daily News that she has always made a point to steer clear of Campbell, and has previously said of her British archrival: "She did so many hateful things, like getting me thrown off shows because she was more famous. It got so bad that I just wanted to give up." In describing their first-ever embrace at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show last week, Banks beamed: "It was the first time I've been in a room with Naomi when I didn't fear her."

Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams will kick off the evening with the debut performance of "Stand Up for Love," the anthem for World Children's Day 2005. The group will perform songs both inside and outside on Jimmy Kimmel Live's Pontiac Garage West stage. The show, which marks the first time Jimmy Kimmel has devoted a broadcast to one feature guest, will air at 12:05 a.m. on ABC. Oprah tells "Good Morning America" that the Tom Cruise couch fiasco was even more crazy than it appeared. Oprah admits she had no clue what was going on and was not buying his declaration of love for Katie Holmes. "It was wilder than it was appearing to me," Winfrey said. "I was just trying to maintain the truth for myself because I couldn't figure out what was going on. And what I was prepared for was the dance that happens when you're doing celebrities — when you know they're not going to tell you, but you're going to ask anyway, and then you try asking another way." "I was not buying-- not buying it, not buying," Winfrey said of Cruise's declarations of love. "That's why I kept saying to 'you're gone, you're really gone.'"

That's funny. One of the Gallagher brothers is talking out the side of his neck, when he is in a group with his sibling whom he hates with a passion and regularly gets into fist fights with. Funny. He ain't lying, though. Commercial hip hop and r&b suck an unbelievable amount of ass.

I really enjoy reading your blog...I believe in what the Oasis frontman said and Jay-Z response to the NBA dress code backs up Noel's point...Allen Iverson represents a corporation and he should do it respectfully, it's bad enough that those basketball thugs can't respect the game with their tempers and tantrums, the dress code is the least can they do.

That Oasis story is kind of old but for him to attack all R&B and hip hop artists as "crackheads" is not only verging on racist but a bit rich given the fact that he and his brother (Oasis singer Liam Gallagher) are notorious for their Tony Montana abuse of cocaine in the past.

well...mister oasis has a point, and a point well taken. but it's not his genre so why should he give a fuck. i am just saying.

all this whining crying about a dress code. get over, already. and the reason why the race card gets tired is because you want to use it for dumb shit like this. try again, homie.

tom cruise is one reason why i will never research scientology. dude is out there.

that oasis sturry is funny being that both of the gallagher brothers had/have drug problems.

By Anonymous leet, at November 16, 2005 says it's an old tactic, hate on someone or something and people start paying more attention to you. Oasis make some good music, but they're just playing the game. %0 does the same thing.
