GOSSIP 2 GO 12/7

OK! magazine spoke with Mary J. Blige in a Q&A and asked the singer about her new material. "The album that's about to be released is called 'Reminisce," she said. "My other new album, 'The Breakthrough', is coming out soon. 'Reminisce' is the album of all the songs that people love from Mary J. Blige plus two new songs. We're releasing one of everybody's all-time favorites. We've never done a video for it, there's never been a single. This is what my fans and I have been through. It's like a retrospective before 'The Breakthrough'. I did a cover with U2 - I just did 'One' with them - and that's going on the album. It's incredible - and I never say that about anything. Bono's on it - it's incredible!"

Sources tell the National Enquirer's Mike Walker that 'Dreamgirls' film execs were literally blown away by Fantasia Barrino and voted to award her the star role — but studio mogul David Geffen overruled them because he didn't think the 'American Idol' champ had the class or style to pull it off. Instead, the role went to another 'Idol', Jennifer Hudson.

The Associated Press reports Sean 'Diddy' Combs made a surprise visit to Chris Evert's charity tennis tournament to meet a teenage cancer patient. For Chalon Keen, 17, of Sunrise, who has been fighting for two years a cancer that creates tumors in her muscle cells, Saturday's visit was a dream come true. Read

NEW SUIT FOR JAY-Z has learned that former WWE wrestler Diamond Dallas Page has filed a federal lawsuit in Los Angeles against Jay-Z alleging trademark infringement for unauthorized use of the "Diamond Cutter" sign that Page has used commercially since 1996. Read

Mariah Carey tells The Mirror she's planning an extended stay in the UK next year. "I want to buy a hotel," she said. "Somewhere small and intimate. I could live there while I'm here and when I go back to the States other people could stay. There's a place in Chelsea with only 10 rooms that sounds fabulous. I could have a Mimi Suite which would be really girly. There'd be a salon, too. I trained at beauty school so I know how important a good manicure is." Read

Justin Timberlake's high voice has made the singer millions, but the *NSYNC star's pitch isn't pleasing film bosses, according to The Sun. "He was dejected after the casting bosses rejected him," a source revealed. “At first they refused to tell him why they had reached their decisions, in case it hurt him. But he wanted to know if he needed more acting experience. And they eventually confessed they rejected him because he sounded more like a 12-year-old boy than an action hero. He needs a deep, dreamy voice like George Clooney if he is to be a big-screen sex symbol. So he has been doing voice exercises day and night in a bid to develop a deep voice." Read

HAS 50 Cent protégé Young Buck copped a plea? The G-Unit rapper (real name: David Darnell Brown) accused of stabbing another attendee at last year's Vibe Awards has hammered out a deal with L.A. County prosecutors, his defense lawyer Scott Leemon told The Post's David K. Li. The DA wouldn't confirm the deal, and Leemon would only say the assault charge was "favorably resolved" for his client. Young Buck allegedly stabbed a man who sucker-punched his buddy Dr. Dre. Stay tuned: The rap artist's next court date in L.A. is set for Dec. 12, when more details might emerge.

Extra TV is reporting that Angela Bassett and her husband Courtney B. Vance are expecting twins through a surrogate mother, who's about to give birth any time. Bassett, 47, will next be seen in the film "Akeelah and the Bee," opposite her "Boyz N the Hood" co-star Laurence Fishburne.

MTV/Paramount has announced that Mary J. Blige will star as the late vocalist Nina Simone in a feature film about her rise to stardom and her relationship with Paris-based manager Clifton Henderson. Most known for her civil rights anthems "Mississippi Goddam" (written in response to the murder of Medgar Evers) and "To Be Young, Gifted, and Black," Simone made music on her own terms, defying categorization by swirling R&B with jazz and blues. In 1974, the chanteuse went into exile, eventually ending up in Paris, where she died in 2003.

Brandy is coming back to series television, courtesy of a new WB comedy pilot written by the creator of "Girlfriends," Mara Brock Akil. The pilot will star Brandy as a 25-year-old New Yorker who moves to Los Angeles for a new gig as an entertainment editor. Brandy’s last series television stint was a five-year run on UPN’s "Moesha." Her TV resume also includes the 1997 musical "Cinderella," in which she played the title character.

THINGS seem to be going from bad to worse in the Britney Spears/Kevin Federline marriage.
Spears, who kicked her under-employed, party-loving hubby out of her Malibu abode last week, is now said to be "furious" with her man and "wants to punish him," according to a well-informed source.
A spy in Spears' camp told PAGE SIX, "She is trying to repossess the $200,000 Ferrari she bought him. She is sick and tired of his partying ways and the constant flow of complete drug addicts coming in and out of her house."
The fight that led to Spears booting Federline from their home reportedly began over his having his "weedman" — or pot dealer — over to the house and hanging around their newborn son, Sean Preston.
After she kicked Federline out on Thursday, Spears went out dancing at Los Angeles hot spot LAX.
Federline, for his part, didn't seem to mind the sudden freedom. He spent the weekend partying with pals in Las Vegas — presumably on Spears' dime.
According to our sources, Federline and "an entourage" danced away until 4:30 a.m. at Tao while Mike Tyson and Joy Bryant looked on.

THE hookers may be gone from the Meatpacking District, but the police are still on the lookout - as RuPaul found out last week. The trannie actor was shooting his latest movie, "Whitepaddy," on West 13th Street. According to our production source: "Since it's a small-budget indie film, we weren't using any lights for the scene. Ru was on his knees simulating [oral sex] on someone in plain view when a cop pulled over." The officer was quickly set straight.
