TYRESE TREATS GUEST TO HIS ALTER EGO
Singer-actor Tyrese Gibson launched his new recording studio Headquarter Entertainment with a celebrity-filled bash at the Hollywood-based production house. Located in the Edmonds Entertainment Building, Headquarter Entertainment is not only a recording studio, but a production company that is producing the soundtrack to Gibson's upcoming Focus Features film 'Waist Deep' among other projects.
During the grand opening, Gibson showcased music from his 'Alter Ego' album--a double-CD set where Gibson sings on one disk and raps under his alias Black Ty on the other. Eddie Murphy & Johnny Gill were among the guests.

America's Next Top Model finalist Mercedes Scelba-Shorte has landed a leading role in the upcoming 'X-Men 3' movie. The model is in final negotiations to play the role of M in the sequel, which is being directed by Bret Ratner.

Rumors are abound that a certain R&B darling is suffering from a terrible bout with depression. The buzz is that said singer has been admitted to the hospital several times in the last two months, depressed about her struggling music career and some shoddy developments with her business affairs. Apparently her stress-relieving bad habit hasn’t helped her cope with her most recent emotional misery.I'm not sure who it is but I hope they don't just sit around drnkin' BRANDY all night.
BEYONCE DEFENDS DADDY KNOWLES
Entertainmentwise.com reports that Destiny's Child star Beyonce Knowles has responded to claims that her father Matthew Knowles, who recently lost his position at Sanctuary Urban Records, is pushy and self serving. "I never felt that I was being dragged into the business," she said. "I always loved music and never felt pushed beyond my own ambitions to succeed. I never had to sing or earn money for my family because we lived very well. We had a nice house, nice cars. I only sang because I loved it."
MARY J. BLIGE REVIEW
Caroline Sullivan of The Guardian reviewed Mary J. Blige's new album 'The Breakthrough', giving it 3 out of 5 stars. Sullivan says that "to criticise 'The Breakthrough' is to reckon without the stunning power of her voice. Blige may be celebrating no more drama in her life, but when she wants to, she can still sing like a drama queen. These are The 'Breakthrough's high points." She added, "The lyrics may be wet, but she sings with cool conviction, not wasting a note, and certainly not indulging in Dionesque hit-that-crescendo rubbish." Read more.
The Daily Star reports that Jessica Simpson is thinking about doing another reality show, which would follow her life as a single woman following her split with Nick Lachey. "Her fans saw every moment of her marriage in 'Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica', so it makes sense that they should see the aftermath," a source said.

The Mirror reports that Jennifer Lopez sent ex-fiance Ben Affleck and his wife Jennifer Garner a gift basket to celebrate the birth of their baby daughter Violet, born on December 1st. "Even though Jennifer is now married to Marc Anthony, she still wanted to wish Ben and Jen all the best," a source said. "She'll always have a special place in her heart for Ben."
