BITCH WHAT DO YOU KNOW?(GETTING RID OF YOUR EX)

Bitch what do you know is my series on giving advice,last week's topic was on cheating.This week's is about letting go of the ass from your past.
The story starts like this:It was a rainy night,he called you crying and telling you that he needs to see you.You go to his place to find out why is the person that broke your heart two months ago calling you.Then,you realize he's called you crying at least once a week since you've broke up.This time,his newest girlfriend has been making life miserable for hm and he needed comforting and your stupid ass went running.No! Let's not let the ex get the best of us. I've compiled some tips for making a clean break from Mr. X.
1- Take him off that pedestal-Don't build him up into something great. Do Not gaze lovingly at pictures of him. Don't jump to answer his e-mail or phone calls. And definitely don't go out of your way for him. He no longer deserves preferential treatment.
2- Get closure...-It's essential to definitively end any hopes of reconciliation between the two of you. He owes you the courtesy of telling you: "I never loved you. I don't love you now. We'll never get back together." Let me tap your forehead my sister/brother you will now begin to heal!
3-No More Contact!-Don't beg or cry. Don't drunk-dial. Don't write an e-mail. Don't send packages or CDs. Don't dedicate a song on the radio.They will find you if they want to. And even if you can talk your way back into their arms, it's only a temporary reprieve. He already knows you want him back, and he does not give a fuck. Take that as a sign.
4-Avoid her friends & the places she hangs- Find new places to hang out for the first few months and make new friends, if necessary. If any of your friends insist on maintaining contact with him, you may have to shut them out, too -- at least temporarily. After some time has passed, you should go back to living normally, and that means hanging out at these places and reconnecting with traitiors,,,I mean, mutual friends.
5-Sleep with another guy immediately- Take shelter in the arms of another. the rebound is the shit! Plenty of heartbroken people go this route and for a very good reason -- it makes you feel better, even if it's only temporary. So go out there and feel better about yourself!
6-Throw away anything that reminds you of her-Pictures, gifts, clothing, letters, and e-mail,get it out of your living area, or at least out of your sight. If that means giving away roughly half of your wardrobe to get rid of the memory of her, so be it. As a rule, if the object makes you think of them, discard it. This can save your sanity. Remember Waiting to Exhale?
7-Hang out with your friends-Let your peeps give you a reality check on how your ex wasn't all that to begin with, and that there are more fish in the sea. Hanging with friends can go a long way towards getting your head straight.
8-Don't try to get your stuff back- Unless it's a diamond ring or something that's one-of-a-kind, you're better off not contacting them to get it back. DVDs, clothes, your extra toothbrush... just let 'em go. They're only possessions. Is it really worth the pain of being in their presence just to reclaim a pair of boxer shorts? Don't exchange your dignity for menial belongings.The Ex would love to tell that story to the new date.
9-Remember the bad times-If you start to feel weak,think about all the times that The Ex embarassed you in front of your friends or blamed you for shit you didn't do or never complimented you on your new hairstyle but made sure to comment when it didn't look good.
10-Seduce somebody he's jealous of-this has always been a fave of mine.Could you imagine walking into a party with the guy that your ex thought was so fucking hot and they hated them for it?Priceless.

HOLIDAY N.'s DIET CHALLENGE (PART 2)

LET'S GET PHYSICAL
Yesterday I challenged the lazy people that read HollyHood to get in some kind of shape for all the great Labor Day events.Yesterday I gave you the Atkins Diet which has been a fave of mine(and celebs) to lose some weight quickly for an event.Today we'll discuss exercise.I know,you're like "I hate exercise,why can't I just do the diet?"Well,unless you want to have saggy skin you're gonna have to keep it tight and working out is the key.Today I'll give you my 2 week at home shape up(when I don't want to be bothered by some trainer yelling "I can do it")
Every other day I will post tips from celebs,trainers,models,and others who are event dieters such as oursleves so keep checking back and start this challenge a.s.a.p.!!
Cardio- is important because it promotes excellent cardio vascular health and it burns body fat effectively.You have to do something that gets your heart pumping at higher rate for at least 45 minutes to an hour daily during the course of the diet.Biking,skating,jump rope,power walking,running,jogging,dancing,if you can do a half hour of jumping jacks or buy/rent/borrow an aerobics tape,I prefer Tae-Bo.Start off slow the first 3 days and then keep adding on 15 minutes until you can do either do two 45 minute sessions a day(one day,one night) or at least an hour a day.
After your 45 minute cardio,get down and do as many crunches as you possibly can,I'm serious.Do 10 more than the last one you can do!Me and Ashanti have the same trainer and he always makes us do 10 more than the last one we think we can do.Do the same with push ups,watch your form and don't be a bitch ass and do them lazy because I'm just tryna make sure you're a head turner at that picnic,party,pride,whateva.
Next you can go over to a chair in your house and do the following exercises:
Dips-with your body facing away from the seat of the chair(like it would be if you were sitting)put your hands on the side of the chair and using your body weight lower yourself as close to ground without touching it as possible and come back up slowly,do at least 2 sets of 15 and every 3 days add on a couple more.
Squats-to tone up them thighs and booties we are gonna face the chair again(as if we were about to sit) and slowly sit down on the seat of the chair for 2 seconds and stand up slowly while contracting your glutes(squezzing your ass muscles) and then repeat,do this for 2 sets of 15 and add on a few more reps every 3 days.(This exercise can be done with weights if you have)
Arms-if you don't have access to some dumbells(not Jessica Simpson,weights) you can use two 1 gallon watter bottles and do as many curls(plus 10) as you can.
This regimine is not as hasrd as it reads and after Day 6 it actually starts to feel good as the effects of the diet and exercise start to show.Also,you can weigh yourself 1x the first day and then again on Day 7 and then not again until the last day(Day 14).It's not weight you wanna lose..it's inches!

Americans still can’t get enough of Mariah Carey’s latest single “We Belong Together.” The ballad remains No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for the ninth non-consecutive week, interrupted for only one week in late June by “American Idol” winner Carrie Underwood’s “Inside Your Heaven.”
Mimi’s sizzler also clocks a 10th week at No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and knocks 50 Cent’s "Just a Lil Bit" from its perch atop Billboard's exclusive Hot Ringtones chart with a 4-1 jump.
Mariah loses her three-week reign on the Pop 100 after being unseated by the Pussycat Dolls' "Don't Cha" featuring Busta Rhymes, which climbs 4-1. The catty tune moves up 4-3 on the Hot 100 to settle in behind Rihanna's "Pon de Replay,” at No. 2 for the second week.

THE INC DRIED UP?
An anonymous source has told SOHH.com that Irv Gotti’s “The Inc” label has officially severed ties with Island Def Jam and on Wednesday moved out of its 9th Ave office.
As previously reported, Island Def Jam [IDJ] was rumored to have begun its dissolution talks with the troubled label in May, prompted by complaints from other tenants in the building who feared for their safety following the company’s 2003 raid by the feds. There was also speculation that IDJ wanted to wash The Inc off its hands because the imprint’s shady image threatened to soil its reputation.
The FBI raid stemmed from allegations that Gotti and Queens drug lord Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff laundered over $1 million in drug money to fund Murder Inc, which has since been renamed The Inc.
A close source now tells SOHH.com that IDJ let go of The Inc. as part of an agreement to avoid federal authorities from including them in their probe of Gotti’s label. Def Jam was likely to be investigated, the web site reports, because it contributed $500,000 to the soundtrack for Murder Inc’s film “Crime Partners,” which was co-produced and co-written by McGriff.
Under the alleged agreement, the feds refused to name Universal Music Group and Island Def Jam in its indictment on Gotti and his label, which was revealed in January. The two music groups were instead referred to as “the other companies.”
Gotti had been rumored to be in talks with Warner Music Group and EMI as possible distributors for The Inc. SOHH is now reporting that WMG has indeed offered Gotti the president position at its Atlantic Records

So you hid your body all summer long because your ass was too lazy to hit the gym in the fall and winter?Well summer's not over yet and for those of you that would love to look great for at least the end of summer I have some dieting tips for you.
Being the social heavy socialite that I am,I meet lots of models and celebs that I boldly ask for workout and diet tips all the time.Yes I'm beautiful but sometimes I could stand to burn up a pound or two(ladies don't we always?).
I say all you people that have 15-20 lbs that you'd love to drop by that fab Labor Day Party,let mama guide you.
Now some of these tips are a bit unorthodox and you should definitely consult you doctor before trying anything I say(I'm not a trainer but I have been using them since I was 17).These are tips for people that are looking to drop a few pounds in short amount of time.it's been done by many a celeb for video shoots,premieres,photos,and red carpets and your big ass could do it too : )
I will be your guide for 2 weeks keeping you motivated and giving you celebrity diet and exercise tips every other day.Today I'll start with my favorite quick weight loss diet tips and tomorrow we'll discuss exercise and then every other day for 2 weeks I'll be on your asses.
ATKINS DOES WORK
The popular fad diet by the late Dr. Atkins which started the whole low carb revolution was popular for a reason...it worked! It's possible to lose at least 11 lbs in 2 weeks when this diet is done right.
The diet is very simple and inexpensive(what do you care?you didn't spend your money on an expensive health club so get crackin!)
The diet works by consuming as much healthy proteins as you can and as little (bad) carbs as you can.A 145lb person should consume 75 grams of protein a day on this diet,so figure your consumption accordingly.You must read the back of the packages to figure out how much carb and protein something has.
Things you can eat:
Lean meats(Turkey,beef,white meat chicken) Grill,steam,broil, get creative so you don't get bored.
Fish(all varieties)
cheese
salads(hold that creamy dressing)
low carb protein bars(some have 40 grams of protein per serving!)
low carb protein shakes
egg whites
diet soda
green tea
Things to avoid:
regular soft drinks
sugar
flour
bread
milk
cereals
wheat products
fried foods
dessert snacks
starches(rice,pasta,potato things)
It seems easy but this can be a really hard diet but the good news is it's only for two weeks.If you must have bread,eat 1 slice if you must have anything from the no no list eat just a piece of it.
I also take a fiber supplement like Metamucil(a tablespoon in the morning,and one in the evening)
Drink lots of water at least 8 glasses
NO COFFEE, because you'll be having sugar and milk with it!

APARTMENT DECOR ON A BUDGET (PART 1)

Owning a home is part of the American dream, but purchasing a house may not fit in your budget right now. In fact, more than half of the people in the United States lives in some type of apartment.
If you’ve ever rented a house or apartment, you’ve probably stared at your blank walls and wished you could make your house look more like home. “How can I decorate when I can’t even punch nails in the walls?” you think to yourself. However, home decorating can be done even when you are “borrowing” the walls for a while. After all, it is your home for now, and why shouldn’t it look its best? Decorating on a budget with little or no impact can be hard, but it is not impossible! Landlords control what happens to their property which they are “loaning” to you as you rent. Altering your existing furniture or adding new, non-permanent decorations can help in many ways.
COLOR ME BAD
One of the most obvious "decorating" techniques is also one of the most time-consuming. But there's a reason why a new coat of paint and change of color can infuse new life into any space -- it's the first thing you notice when you walk into a room. Whether you decide to pick up a brush yourself or enlist the help of your girlfriend or a professional painter, it's up to you to choose the color.
Remember that a lighter color makes a place look bigger while a darker color can have the opposite effect; but that doesn't mean you can't experiment with a different color rather than the usual white or "eggshell." While neutrals are a "safer" option, softer shades of earth tones are gaining in popularity. Some popular wall colors include cappuccino or mocha brown, sage green and light blue.

YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE
Naturally a complement to a room's wall color, lighting can lend an entirely new dimension to a room. Just think of the effect that the right lighting can have on a film or TV show.
Invest in some cool floor lamps, table lamps, and even ceiling fixtures (if applicable). There is an abundance of lamp options out there, and there's no reason for you to have to resort to a lamp from the local hardware store. From wood to leather bases, and "Zen"-looking shades, your minimalist-looking lamps can give your place maximum appeal.
LET'S GET SOME FURNITURE UP IN THERE
If you don't want to actually purchase new furniture, you can resort to rearranging your space. Angling your bed, table and sofa in a new direction can infuse new energy to your space. When you moved in, you may have simply placed your dining room table, couch, bed, and dresser without a second thought, rather than trying out all the different options. You may even discover that your home has a lot more space than you're used to or suspected.
But you could also take the more expensive route, and invest in some cool additions to your home. The right accessories and/or furniture can become the focal point of a room, giving it a whole new spin.
The following is a list of furniture or accessories you should consider for various rooms in the house (whichever ones you want to spruce up):
Coffee table: an ottoman can also serve as a coffee table.

Chairs: An original, trendy chair can become the life of your living room.
Rug: you can go funky with a bright shag carpet, or classic with a traditional area rug.

D'ANGELO IS DOING CLIVE DAVIS
J-Records artists Alicia Keys and Maroon5 may soon get D’Angelo as a labelmate. Sources tell Billboard.com that the mellow crooner, who disappeared amidst a purple haze in 2002 after releasing his second album for Virgin, has already made the move to J, however, the Sony BMG-owned label has yet to confirm anything.
In April, D'Angelo, (real name Michael Archer), pled guilty in a Virginia District Court to charges of marijuana possession and driving under the influence of alcohol, and received a combined 100-day suspended jail sentence. The charges stemmed from a January incident in which the singer was pulled over in a Richmond suburb.
The New York Times reports that Sean “P. Diddy” Combs is ready to make strategic moves with in Sean John clothing company in an effort to lose its “urban” reputation and become more universal. Diddy told the paper that his first step is to drop the bold logo and “SJ” initials that grace his clothing. "I'm putting you on rations," he told his designers, according to the New York Times. "From now on, I want people to read the name without seeing the name. You get me?"
Although the label still makes lots of money, it saw a drop in sales in the last two years and a net loss last year, according to the Times. Industry watchers say the downward swing signals a decreased interest in urban fashion.
Pregnant Jennifer Garner is having her pregnancy written into her hit series, Alias. Garner got married to actor Ben Affleck in June. Their first baby is due around Christmas. When Alias returns for its fifth season on September 29, Garner's character will be mentoring a young agent.

Between HollyHood Blogazine and my other blog The Heiress Diaries, I get a lot of e-mails from people asking me for advice on things from money matters,style,and health to relationships,plastic surgery and gossip.I don't claim to be an expert in any field,but I do have my educated opinions on everything.So,I'm going to start a column called BITCH,WHAT DO YOU KNOW? I know I should be asking someone I know personally about this,but I read your blog everyday and you seem a lot like my girlfriend,a lot!!! She's very beautiful and very flirty.Back when I was first trying to date her,she had at least 9 other guys dating her and I can't lie some looked better and had better jobs than me.We've been together for about a year and a half now and she claims it's just me and her but I just have this gut feeling she's cheating.Is there any ways to tell if somebody is cheating on you?

Well it sounds to me like you definitely have some insecurity and not to mention self esteem issues.If she did not feel you were "worthy" of her affection,why would she be wasting her time with you for a year and a half?There is nothing wrong with dating more than one guy,I just hate those instant relationships.Besides, that was in her past.You have got to trust your girl or I don't see you having too many more anniversaries.But to answer your question, I do have some hints about if you think your lover is cheating:
1-Your mate is more attentive to your needs than usual. This is due to the guilt feelings experienced by the cheater in the early stages of his or her affair.If all of a sudden they wanna buy you flowers everyday,a little gift when they come late and this behavior has never been done,I would be a little suspect.These are usually guilt gifts to make themselves feel better.
2-Your mate frequently picks fights with you. Doing this gives him reason to get mad and storm out of the house and thus the opportunity to meet a lover. A cheater may also do this because of mixed emotions he is feeling about betraying you.
3-Your mate criticizes things about you that he or she once found attractive and appealing.
4-Your mate turns the table and accuses you of cheating but has no evidence.
5-Does he/she change rooms when they get a phone call?
6-Is your mate's cellphone off (or voicemail on) a bit too much when you call lately??
7-Sometimes you have to trust that deep down gut feeling.You know your boo better than anybody so you would be able to feel or pick up on a change in feelings.Sometimes we play blind to those feelings and it turns out to be true.

Sunday's NY Newsday reports a shooting that took place outside a Flatiron bar, involved staffers of the Source Magazine(a popular hip-hop mag).
The paper says that a fight spilled onto the streets and two men took out guns and started firing. "A 26-year-old man was shot in the head, a 28-year-old man was shot three times about his body, and a 30-year-old man was shot twice in his arm and torso, police said." Remarkably, the victims, two cousins and the bar's busboy, are expected to recover
The account goes on to say that immediately after the shooting, Source employees Leroy Peeples, the general manager and Alvin Childs, a sales dept. staffer, were taken into custody, but were not charged Saturday night.
POP'S MOST POWERFUL
With the promise of anonymity, Los Angeles Times’ music writer Robert Hilburn convinced a number of industry players to speak candidly about today’s pop music stars and to vote for the artists they believed would sell the most albums.
One exec said about Eminem: "I feel his moment has come and gone." Regarding Britney Spears, another said: "Trust me, she's over." And someone called Christina Aguilera “too volatile” to remain relevant.
Yet, the majority agreed that Usher has some staying power. Among the 21 polled bigwigs under L.A. Times’ witness protection – including BMG's Clive Davis, Interscope Geffen A&M's Jimmy Iovine, Sony Music's Don Ienner and artist/executives Kanye West and Jermaine Dupri. – 17 placed Usher in their top 10, while six made him their No. 1 pick.
"He could be the Michael Jackson of this decade," says a label head, referring to Jackson's former pop reign. Alicia Keys came in second on the tally, called the Los Angeles Times’ 2005 Pop Power List.
"Alicia has the talent to make any type of record she wants," said a label head. "She can do a jazz album, a pop album, a Broadway album and make it sound fresh and inspired."
Fifteen of the executives placed her among the top 10; two listed her first. That's the strongest showing ever for a female artist on the Pop Power List, which has been assembled four times since 1985.
Not everyone thought Eminem is approaching has-been status. He was ranked among the top three hot properties by nine executives, however, 10 executives left the Detroit rapper completely out of their top 10, leaving him to finish fourth overall behind Coldplay (the only rock act in the top 10).
The rest of the Top 10, in order: Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, OutKast, 50 Cent, Kanye West and Dr. Dre.
The following artists also appeared on more than three lists: Josh Groban, Green Day, U2, No Doubt/Gwen Stefani, Linkin Park, Maroon 5 and John Legend.

RollingStone.com reports that TLC plan to support the greatest-hits CD with a tour. Whether they'll take the winner of 'R U the Girl With T-Boz and Chilli' along is unclear, but they definitely plan to write and record their next studio album without her. "We might have some guest appearances," T-Boz says. "But TLC is always gonna be T-Boz, Left Eye and Chilli. We didn't work this hard for somebody just to fly up in here after fourteen years." MMMM TASTES LIKE SUMMER

Here are 5 drinks that Cargo Magazine recommends for the summer.Each one a fruity delight(like NSYNC..just kidding,they were much fruitier than these drinks.)Ok,so you won't win macho man of the year holding these drinks but you will surely get the attention of a gal like myself when you whip up a batch or order us one of these summertime must-haves.
MELON BALL

Makes 8 drinks
This fruity , almost shooter-like cocktail is heavy on the orange and lemon. It's ideal for sipping in the sun, as folks on the Left Coast discovered in the late '70s. (It's cute and vintage...can't go wrong with that)
Ingredients: 16 oz. Midori Melon liqueur 16 oz. vodka 40 oz. orange juice 16 melon chunks
Barware: 8 cooler glasses
Place the Midori, vodka, and orange juice in a large pitcher or punch bowl filled with ice. Stir vigorously until the outside of the container is frosty and beaded with condensation. Strain the mixture into chilled glasses brimming with ice. Spear two melon chunks for garnish.
Peaches and Cream

Makes 8 drinks
There's nothin' like a Georgia peach, and there's no better way to put one to use than in this decadently sweet drink—sipping one is like sucking on a peach-flavored Creamsicle.
Ingredients: 8 oz. peach brandy 8 oz. peach schnapps 16 oz. milk or cream Cinnamon 8 peach slices
Barware: 8 hurricane glasses
Make this in batches. Place 2 cups of crushed ice in a blender. Then add 2 oz. each of the brandy and the schnapps, and 4 oz. of the milk or cream, and blend until smooth. Pour into hurricane glasses, sprinkle with cinnamon, and garnish with a peach slice.
Pina Colada

Makes 8 frozen cocktails
Take a trip to the islands with a frozen favorite from Puerto Rico.A real homemade colada—as opposed to the crappy ones often served by resort bars—has the delicious taste and milky texture of coconut, with sweet highlights of its spiky namesake fruit.
Ingredients: 32 oz. pineapple juice 24 oz. Coco Lopez cream of coconut 12 oz. light rum 8 oz. Myers's rum 8 pineapple wedges
Barware: 8 hurricane or other large specialty glasses
Save time by combining all ingredients (except the ice and fruit) up to eight hours in advance, then refrigerate until you're ready to blend. Use an ice crusher to pulverize 8 cups of ice, or place the ice in a plastic bag and smash it with the back of a spoon. Store the prepared ice in the freezer. If you have time, chill the glasses—it'll help keep the drink from melting too fast. When you're ready to blend, do it in batches, using 1 cup of crushed ice for every 9 ounces of mix per cocktail. Process in a blender on medium speed until smooth. Pour into glasses, garnish with pineapple wedges, and serve.
Planters Punch

Makes 8 drinks.
This unique concoction packs a serious wallop without tasting the part—think fruity Long Island iced tea.
Ingredients: 8 oz. dark rum 8 oz. light rum 6 oz. triple sec 16 oz. orange juice 16 oz. pineapple juice 4 oz. lime juice 3 oz. grenadine 2 tsp. Angostura bitters 8 orange slices 8 cherries
Barware: 8 hurricane glasses
Load a large pitcher with ice and combine all ingredients except the fruit and nutmeg. Stir briskly until the pitcher is frosty and beaded with condensation. Fill the glasses with ice and add the cocktail, pouring it in through a strainer. Garnish with the orange, and cherry, then serve.
Tom Collins
Was this drink named after Joan Collins' gay half brother Tom Collins?

Makes 8 drinks.
There are several theories on the origin of the Tom Collins. Some say it takes its name from Old Tom, the gin dating back to the 1700s that was originally used to make it. Others claim the drink was invented at the turn of the 19th century by an Irish immigrant in New York who dubbed the refresher after himself. Neither of those Toms is around today, but this sipper—which tastes like sparkly lemon soda—is alive and well among the New England yacht-club set.
Ingredients: 16 oz. gin 8 oz. lemon juice 6 oz. simple syrup (see below) or 2 tbsp. confectioners sugar 8 oz. club soda 8 orange slices 8 cherries
Barware: 8 collins glasses
To make the simple syrup, dissolve two parts sugar into one part water over low heat. Combine the syrup (or the confectioners sugar) with the remaining ingredients, save for the soda and fruit, in a jar or pitcher. Load a cocktail shaker with ice and add the gin, lemon juice, and syrup mixture. Shake vigorously until the container is thoroughly beaded with condensation and extremely cold to the touch. Add ice to the collins glasses and fill them two-thirds of the way with the cocktail. Top off with club soda, garnish with an orange slice and a cherry, and serve.

What in the world could have kept Whitney Houston from attending the funeral of her beloved aunt and family matriarch, Lee Warrick?
Born Arthur Lee Drinkard Warrick, Lee was the eldest sister of Whitney’s mother Cissy and mother of both Dionne Warwick and her sister, singer Dee Dee Warwick. Lee Warrick, also the leader of the family gospel group The Drinkards, passed away last week – two months before her 85th birthday.
Her service was held at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, N.J., where Cissy has been a deacon. Her daughter Whitney, however, was a no-show.
According to FoxNews.com, Whitney’s absence may be due to residual saltiness over being forced into rehab by her mother. The outlet reports that Cissy’s stand against her daughter’s self-confessed drug habit resulted in the removal of Whitney and Bobby Brown's daughter, Bobbi Kristina, from the couple's custody until Whitney sought treatment.
Lee Warrick’s service wasn’t the first funeral Whitney has chosen not to attend. Several years ago, she skipped her own father's funeral, and earlier this month, she stayed away from Luther Vandross' funeral at Riverside Church in New York. Vandross was one of the producer-writers who helped launch Whitney’s career.
Whitney’s brothers Gary and Michael served as pallbearers for Warrick. Chuck Jackson and members of the Shirelles also paid their respects at the service.

*Police say Aretha Franklin’s 47-year-old son Edward walked onto the Michigan campus of Cranbrook Schools in Bloomfield Hills and took off with someone’s Hardwock mountain bike worth over $400.
A campus employee called police with a description of the suspect and officers tracked down Franklin at a nearby Mobil gas station, said Oakland County Prosecutor David Gorcyca.
"His alleged statement to the police was that it was his bike, but we have proof that it was not his bike and we're prepared to go to trial if he wants to contest the allegations," Gorcyca said, according to ClickonDetroit.com.
With no prior convictions on his record, Franklin faces a misdemeanor charge of theft and a year in prison.
In October 2002, Franklin was a suspect in the investigation of an arson fire that engulfed his mother's house in Bloomfield Township. He was cleared of the charges after Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox found discrepancies in physical evidence and statements from witnesses.

It's been nearly two weeks since Oscar winner ANGELINA JOLIE announced to the world that she was adopting another baby, this time a girl from Ethiopia named ZAHARA. But in the process of bringing her home, Angelina discovered her new daughter suffered a number of health problems.
The six-month old baby was ill from malnutrition and dehydration and had to be hospitalized for a week in New York. According to the upcoming edition of Us Weekly, on newsstands tomorrow, after being admitted, doctors discovered she was also suffering from an intestinal infection.
"In spite of her illness, she was very sweet, engaging and responsive," her doctor, JANE ARONSON, told the magazine. "When she gained her strength, she began to smile and coo."
Aronson also tells Us that the baby had clearly bonded with mama Angelina. "She was very connected to her mother during the hospitalization," she says. "It was clear the love and devotion of her [new adoptive] mother ... helped her recover."
Angelina and even her 3-year-old son MADDOX were very hands-on during Zahara's hospital stay. "Angelina was sleeping in [Zahara's] hospital room," a staffer revealed to Us, who adds that Maddox came by to check on his new sister.
Aronson gives Angelina credit for saving Zahara's life. "Children with [these multiple ailments] living in orphanages in developing nations die quickly without medical intervention," she says. "That would have been her fate had she not been adopted."

The SMURFS are back! Smurfarific! Smurfabulous! Smurfy! Okay, we'll stop now. A 3-D, CGI animated Smurfs film is now in the works. Variety reported that Paramount's Nickelodeon Movies will kick off a planned Smurfs trilogy (!) with a film debuting in 2008. The Smurfs actually started in 1958 in Europe, but didn't catch on in the States until the cartoon show in the 1980s. There's no word yet who will provide the voices of the blue ones -- the voice artists who created TV's Gargamel, Baby Smurf and Papa Smurf have passed away. Thank god 76-year-old Lucille Bliss, better known as Smurfette, is still working. DreamWorks and Paramount are also working on a film adaptation of The Transformers. What's next, a Strawberry Shortcake reunion?

With rights to the life story of Notorious B.I.G. secured, Fox Searchlight has hired journalist Cheo Hodari Coker to write a biopic of the slain rapper to be directed by Antoine Fuqua. Barrow already knows that a huge obstacle in the project will be casting.
"The most important element to casting B.I.G. is what we consider the swagger," Barrow said. "They have to have the element of the man and be able to capture the essence of who he was and his maneuvering, his relishings of life. You can't instill this in an individual -- you just have to have it."
THE TOO BUTCH CASSIDY
Cassidy remains in a Philadelphia jail on murder charges following a request for a bail determination during a preliminary hearing Tuesday, reports MTV.
The “I’m A Hustler” rapper has been behind bars since his June 17 arrest for the murder of a 22-year-old man in his native Philadelphia. Cassidy will have to remain in jail for the time being, at least until Aug. 16 when the next hearing in the case has been scheduled.
According to an eyewitness, the criminal court judge has ordered ballistics testing on weapons taken during the murder investigation for means of corroborating witness statements. The results from that testing are expected back sometime before Aug. 16.
A spokesperson for Cassidy says he’s in "good spirits" and his lawyers "are fighting hard for him."

A WORLD OF TROUBLE
Lil' Kim's former boyfriend, Damion "World" Hardy and members of his crew were indicted yesterday on federal charges of alleged drug dealing and murders.
According to prosecutors, Hardy and his Cash Money Brothers clique (CMB) allegedly sold cocaine in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn's Lafayette Gardens and allegedly killed five people over the last decade. If convicted, Hardy, 30, and 12 of his associates face the death penalty or life in prison.
Hardy, aka World, dated Kim back in 2003 and is a suspect in the shooting in which 50 CENT and his crew were shot at outside a New Jersey DoubleTree Hotel. The incident reportedly took place hours after 50 dissed Kim during an appearance on FUNKMASTER FLEX show on New York's Hot 97. Last year, World appeared on Wendy Williams' show on New York's WBLS. In the cryptic and controversial interview, he blasted the music industry as a secret of society of homosexuals.

Houston rapper Slim Thug's major label debut, "Already Platinum" (Star Trak/Geffen/Interscope), debuts at No. 2 with 129,000 copies, and at No. 2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Bow Wow sold 119,000 copies of his latest album "Wanted" (Columbia) to premiere at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The set's first single, "Let Me Hold You" featuring Omarion, is the biggest radio hit of the youngin’s career and is likely to become the rapper's first top 10 hit on Billboard's Hot 100. ALICIA KEYS UNPLUGGED

If anyone could get MTV to bring "Unplugged" out of retirement, it would be Alicia Keys, who just taped her installment of the series last week in New York.
As a child, in my wildest dreams — and I dreamed so big — but you never think it's going to happen," Keys said. "So to be here, on the set that we're going to record 'Unplugged' on, it's amazing and beautiful and everything I've ever dreamed of." 'Unplugged' is my thing, it's really my style, it's what I'm all about," she added. "When I first started playing anywhere, it was on a little cheesy keyboard in a small, nasty hotel dive, and even though I didn't have a beautiful 9-foot Yamaha piano, there was a certain energy that comes with an intimate space. I really loved it."Keys says she also loved dreaming up brand-new arrangements for well-loved — but well-worn — tunes such as "A Woman's Worth" and "Heartburn," as well as a few choice covers.
"To have strings, to have percussion, to have all these elements to put in the piano base that I have, this is so much fun, man," she enthused. "When my drums do come in — a lot of times they don't, it's just about the percussion — but when they do, it's about using the brushes and keeping it calm and cool for a minute."Creating a feeling as if everyone was gathered around the piano in her living room, "just chilling," was important, she said, so that the audience could feel like her extended family. Rapper Lil' Kim struck back Monday at a trial witness who helped to secure her false-statements conviction and yearlong prison sentence, filing a lawsuit accusing the witness of unlawfully using her name and image to promote a DVD. In a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, she accuses James "Lil' Cease" Lloyd of preparing to release a DVD entitled, "The Chronicles of Junior M.A.F.I.A. Part II: Reloaded." She says the DVD, like a predecessor, was unauthorized and improperly uses her name, image and likeness, amounting to false advertising and false endorsement. She's seeking $6 million in damages. She also says Lloyd has announced publicly that the DVD will include interviews with him and other members of the Junior M.A.F.I.A. group explaining their involvement with her trial. Lil' Kim is in the August 2005 issue of Interview magazine with a hot ass photo shoot. She is being interviewed by Marc Jacobs.
LUTHER TRIBUTE ALBUM
Celine Dion, Mary J. Blige, Fantasia, Ruben Studdard, Monica and Angie Stone are among the artists contributing songs to the album “To Luther, With Love ... A Tribute to Luther Vandross.” The collection, which was in the works long before Luther Vandross’ July 1 passing, will come out Sept. 20 on J Records. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are helming many of the tracks. Jam stresses that the producing duo spent much time pairing artists with songs. “It’s important to give each artist their own palette,” Jam says. “Like when Mary J. Blige does ’Never Too Much,’ it’s how it would have sounded on her ’What’s the 411?’ album. That’s the sort of approach that we took with it, so that it becomes her song. Victor Edward Willis, the co-writer of the group’s hits ‘Macho Man,” “YMCA” and “In the Navy,” was arrested late Monday after Daly City police found the loaded weapon and what they believed was crack cocaine in his vehicle, police Lt. Matt Bushong said. Willis was also wanted on an outstanding $15,000 felony warrant for possession of narcotics, which led to his arrest and the subsequent search of his vehicle, Bushong said. There’s no word on what prompted the cop to stop Willis in the first place.

LIONS GATE LOVES COOL JAMES
Lions Gate Films is trotting out rapper LL Cool J as eye-candy to attract black female moviegoers. The first piece of bait under a multi-year deal between both parties will be a black version of "Fatal Attraction" in which the rapper/actor stars as an everyman who gets into serious trouble when he cheats on his wife.
"What we are looking to do with LL is to get high-quality material that will attract talent," says Michael Paseornek, president of production at Lions Gate. "We are not looking to develop gimmicks but make real movies. LL has a huge following and is very credible with women.”
Under the multiyear deal, LL Cool J will get a producer's credit on each film.
"This is the perfect transition for me as I can now pour all my energy and creative juices into this fresh and exciting producing venture," says LL.
Lions Gate has two more LL projects in the pipeline in addition to the urbanized “Fatal Attraction.” The films -- budgeted at less than $10 million, similar to Lions Gate's deal with actor/playwright Tyler Perry ("Diary of a Mad Black Woman") -- are looking to appeal to the black female market, which Lions Gate thinks is an underserved and often ignored segment.
"We'd love to make two of these a year," Paseornek said. "And we'll keep them coming if the marketplace responds."

TIGGER DENIES RUMORS STEMMING FROM KARRINE STEFFANS INTERVIEW
In response to allegations revealed when groupie-turned-author Karrine "Superhead" Steffans visited a New York radio station, radio personality Tigger has released an exclusive statement to AllHipHop.com, denying rumors of homosexuality.
After releasing her tell-all book “Confessions of a Video Vixen,” which exposes sexual affairs between her and numerous hip-hop artists, actors and athletes, Steffans has literally turned the entertainment industry upside down with her tales of infidelity.
In an R. Kelly "Trapped in the Closet" moment during a recent interview with Hot 97 personality Miss Jones, details of an alleged sexual tryst involving Superhead, Tigger, and another man were disclosed while Steffans was discussing her relationship with hip-hop pioneer Kool G. Rap.
According to reports, G. Rap, with whom Steffans has a child, phoned in to dispute several of the claims in the new book, including physical abuse.
Kool G's wife and aspiring rapper Ma Barker also reportedly called in, at which point the graphic account about Tigger evolved.
Hoping to do severe rumor control, Tigger has refuted the story.
"I am not gay. I have never been involved with any homosexual activities," Tigger told AllHipHop.com . "I wanna thank all those who have shown support through this."
Despite her openness, Steffans has remained mysteriously tight-lipped about certain details in her book and was even compelled to cancel a book signing last week at a Harlem bookstore due to security fears.

A caller called into her radio show, saying he was a pre-op transexual who has been in a five year relationship with an R&B singer. He discusses how he lives in a GORGEOUS condo, paid by the R&B singer who left and divorced his wife for him. Apparently the singer wants him to get *snippped* and become a woman. Wendy has someone in mind she asks if he's really tall? Sort of older? forehead wrinkles? Is he sort of dark chocolate skinned? Do the ladies love him? The caller reluctantly says yes to all of those questions. He is older, has forehead wrinkles, and is sort of dark chocolate skinned. Wendy agrees she knows who it is , says she's always suspected that this r&b singer was gay. They never mention names, the call ends. Later Wendy starts talking about another guest(not related to the story) and mentions that he is really good looking "dark chocolate" and then slips in "Just like Brian Mcknight." Over the weekend, Kelly began shooting videos for "Trapped in the Closet" chapters six through 10, which all continue a central story. Production is said to be wrapping this week, and as with the predecessors, Kelly is co-directing. Although his reps haven't disclosed much about the songs or videos, his record company said they take up right where chapter five ended and will keep fans guessing about what'll happen next. There is no word yet on when the new videos will be released, but Kelly's TP.3 Reloaded was released last week, and by all indications it will have a strong debut on the sales chart come Wednesday.

"If I make music now, it will only be to provide information to my own children," says mother of four Lauryn Hill in the new issue of Trace magazine, on newsstands tomorrow (July 14). "If other people benefit from it, then so be it."
As previously reported, the former Fugees singer, whose 1998 solo debut "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" earned a record five Grammys, spoke candidly in the magazine’s special “Black Girls Rule” issue about her troubled road following the success of the album.
She says a CD of new solo studio material is forthcoming, but the jury is still out on a new Fugees album. Her rocky relationship with group member Wyclef Jean, as well as her marriage to Rohan Marley (son of reggae legend Bob Marley and the father of her children) contributed to the singer’s longtime disillusion with men.
"As a young woman, I saw the best in everyone, but I did not see the lust and insecurities of men," she says. "I discovered what a lie was, and how lies manifested themselves."
Hill's last recording was 2001's "MTV Unplugged" — a rambling, core-baring performance that raised the eyebrows of fans and critics alike.
"In order to bare one's soul, one has to display their whole vulnerability, which most people will never do," Hill says. "These people who bare their souls end up being the source of ridicule."
Hill says she has been hesitant to release new music since the “Unplugged” album because most of her previous songs were “transitional.”

Six days before Lil' Kim heads off to prison Sept. 19 for lying to a federal jury, her new album “The Naked Truth, ” (with production from 7 Aurelius, Scott Storch, Fredwreck, Spyder, Hot Runner and Kanye West), will arrive in stores led by the recently-released first single, “Shut Up Bitch.”
According to the New York Post, Kim and about 30 of her friends hit New York’s Acqua Pazza on West 52nd Street and gorged on tiramisu just hours after her sentencing hearing last week.
The rapper was ordered to spend 366 days in prison for lying about a 2001 shooting outside New York radio station Hot 97.
The Post also says that before the sentencing, invites were sent out for a surprise birthday party that was to be held for the rapper today. The invite read: "Please help us celebrate with Friends & Family as we surprise the Queen Bee on Her Special Day! Secret Location, Details to Follow." But a few hours later, a cancellation notice was sent out.

Superhead gets the "Star" treament. On Wednesday, famed groupie Superhead, aka Karrine Steffans, visited The Star and Buc Wild morning show on NYC's Power 105.1. Steffans was on hand to promote her new book, Confessions of a Video Vixen. The book chronicles the former video model's life and recounts sexual encounters she allegedly had with everybody from Shaquille O'Neil, to DMX to Jay-Z. When Star asked about specific details in the book, Steffans got defensive and the interview quickly tensed up. Star charged that Steffans was "pimping the 'hood;" while his sidekick, Crossover Negro Reese continually questioned her motives for writing the book. At one point, the interview got heated with both parties cutting each other off and Superhead nearly cursing at the two hosts. She was asked to leave the show moments later.

THE SUMMER SCANDAL READ OF THE SUMMER

STEFFANS ON HER RELATIONSHIP W/ USHER During my transformation, many old acquaintances were being left behind as new ones took their place. But one night, what was old became new again in the form of Usher Raymond.
In November 2004, I was dining with an acquaintance at the Los Angeles W Hotel restaurant and lounge, and I decided to leave around one in the morning. As I walked down the front steps and toward the valet, I stopped and looked up to see if my guest was behind me. He stood at the top of the stairs talking, and just then, someone came out of the W and motioned for me to walk toward him. As I approached this stranger, he introduced himself to me. “Hi, my name is Keith and I work for Usher. Usher’s in the building right now and would like to speak to you for a moment, if you would follow me.’
Usher and I spoke for just a couple of minutes that night as we stood in the middle of the heavily guarded VIP section of the W’s bar and restaurant. I noticed that we were being watched, so I gave Usher my number and told him to call me the next night--which he did.
Usher and I had first met back in 2000 on the steps of that very same hotel. I was leaving after having had dinner and he was just checking in. “Where are you going?” he asked softly as we crossed paths. I replied, “With you,” and made an immediate U-turn.
Usher and I spent the next several months together whenever he was in Los Angeles. What I remember most about our time spent together is taking breaks for long talks and bouts of laughter, eating Subway sandwiches in bed and ordering late-night room service, logging in long nights at the studio, watching him belt out singles for his then upcoming album 8701, making love every chance we could get. He was twenty years old then, and I was twenty-one. Usher was quiet and very attentive, always asking me if I was all right or if I needed anything. He was a simple man, without the constant security and Maybach Mercedes-Benz he travels with now. When he wasn’t in Los Angeles, we frequently kept in contact via telephone and two-way pager. He became a part of my life, and my feeling for him continued to grow until he fell in love with Chilli, one third of the group TLC. Over the next two years, as he and his relationship with Chilli matured, Usher and I lost touch.
After reuniting in late 2004, Usher and I began to see each other once again. I instantly saw a change in him and in the dynamics of our relationship. The soft and tender person I had known before was still there, but was often superseded by his more aloof side. I would be drawn in by his tender words and touch, only to be pushed away in a moment of cold reaction. On one particular night, I spent an hour or two in the lobby of his hotel having drinks with his manager, personal assistant, and younger brother, James. Usher joined us, and after a while he and I ventured upstairs to his suite. Turned on by his presence, I ripped his clothes, dropped to my knees, and ravished him. Usher seemed to be turned on by commanding me to do things sexually in a tone I found condescending and disrespectful. He stopped me from pleasuring him and began to question why I was there. He seemed under the impression that I hadn’t found love, that I was lost and confused in life. But he was wrong. The old Karrine might have been looking for love, for salvation, but the new Karrine saw the search for what it was. I wasn’t here because I was lonely or looking for my next high--emotional or otherwise; I was here because, given our past history and the friendship I believed we shared, I felt free to be adventurous with him. I wanted him to be the same man I had known five years earlier, but was surprised to find him much cockier and more withdrawn. He and I often battled for control of the situation. Many times we would have loud, uproarious fights. I remember the time his twenty-year-old brother, James, and I had been playfully flirting all night as a sort of running joke. From what I could tell, Usher took that as a sign that I wanted James, and spitefully, offered me to his brother.
“I saw you guys flirting, so why don’t you give him what you were going to give me.” I shouted, “If I wanted to phuck your brother, he’d be phucked. I don’t need your permission!” As he was screaming, “B!tch, get the phuck out!” I was already out of the door and down the hall. As the elevator doors opened, I took my first step into it, only to be dragged back by Usher. I felt he was playing a mental tug-of-war with me, and it seemed to be turning him on. He wasn’t the sex he wanted me for, it was the emotional manipulation. As usual, the night ended with apologies as we lay together on the couch, my head on his chest. For the time being, my tender friend was back. That type of disrespectful behavior would continue, and every time I saw him would be worse than the last. We fought and made up over and over again. As a result, my relationship with Usher became more stressful. Being with him had initially been comfortable and familiar. I genuinely liked him and felt he was a beautiful man, inside and out, despite the changes that had come with his success.
On December 23, 2004, I received a call from Usher’s personal assistant and manager telling me they were planning a surprise for him and I was eager to participate. The three of us piled into a black BMW 760 V12, and I disrobed in the backseat and adorned myself with a hotel robe. We drove to the set of Dying for Dolly, the movie Usher was in the middle of filming. I waited in the backseat as the guys went to fetch Usher from his trailer. As Usher piled into the backseat, he smiled as he eyes became focused on my naked body. Yet he didn’t seem very surprised. Per my request, Usher’s song Lovers and Friends, played over and over as we pulled off and headed to the Century City Plaza Park Hyatt.
I instantly took all of him into my mouth. He was immediately aroused and lay back in ecstasy while touching my most intimate parts. I’d had more than my share of martinis at the bar before arriving on the set, and it seemed as if I reached my sexual peak all at once, in the backseat with him. With every touch, I shivered. With every lick, he squirmed. I was ready, and so was he, and before we knew it, we had arrived at the hotel.
The driveway of the hotel was full of college students from Michigan State, who were in town for the Rose Bowl, not to mention hotel staff, guests, and visitors. Still, there was no hesitation as Usher and I walked into the hotel side by side. He held his head high as I walked beside him, holding the bathrobe together with just one hand, and my hair a mess. We were being obvious and Usher loved it. In the hotel room, everything was just as usual. We enjoyed each other’s company at first, and then came another one of his talks. He was working so hard to build me up then belittle me, when all I wanted to do was share some time with my lover and friend. Then, to add insult to injury, after our simultaneous orgasms, Usher walked out of the suite, without saying a word to me. I found out he was with another woman in the suite next door. I had had enough. He was no longer a man I had know five years before, and I was worth more then he would ever he willing to give. I gathered my things and went home.

*The New York Post is reporting that Mariah Carey’s estranged 43-year-old sister, Alison Carey, has been arrested a second time for trying to turn a trick on Long Island, N.Y.
Suffolk County police said they picked Alison Carey up after she solicited an undercover officer at a marina on June 13."She offered to engage in sexual conduct for $250 in cash," a police source told the New York Post.Mimi’s big sis was previously arrested in April at her home. On June 2, she pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was fined 200 bucks. The latest charge carries a maximum of three months in jail.Alison Carey is reportedly HIV-positive and has lost custody of both of her children.

SKI TRIP IN JULY
The first-ever black gay feature-length film on TV will air this month on MTV Networks’ new LOGO channel. “The Ski Trip,” about five New York City friends who hit the Catskills to celebrate the lead character’s 30th birthday, airs at 10 p.m. on Sunday, July 17.
Filmed on location in winter 2004, “Ski Trip” won rave reviews and garnered multiple best film awards on the 2004 film festival circuit before being picked up by MTVN in November. Director/producer Jamal, whose credits include Comedy Central’s “Chappelle’s Show,” wanted the film to tell a story rarely shown in film - gay men and women of color in open, loving relationships.

Grammy-award winning rapper Lil' Kim was sentenced Wednesday to a year and a day in prison and fined $50,000 for lying to a federal grand jury to protect friends involved in a 2001 shootout outside a Manhattan radio station.
While many rappers have served time in prison, Lil' Kim is the first big-name female to do so.
Lil' Kim, whose real name is Kimberly Jones, could have faced up to 20 years — five years each on three counts of perjury and one count of conspiracy — at her sentencing before U.S. District Judge Gerard Lynch. She was convicted of the charges in March.
Lil' Kim, who turns 30 next week, was the sidekick and mistress of the late Notorious B.I.G. As a solo artist, she has become known for her revealing outfits and raunchy lyrics.
The rapper told the grand jury she did not notice two of her close friends at the scene of the shootout — her manager, Damion Butler, and Suif Jackson, known as "Gutta." Both have pleaded guilty to gun charges.
Jurors at Lil' Kim's trial saw radio station security photos that depicted Butler opening a door for the rap star, and two witnesses who once made records with Lil' Kim said they saw her at the station with Butler and Jackson.
The gun battle happened outside WQHT-FM, known as Hot 97, when Lil' Kim's entourage crossed paths with a rival rap group, Capone-N-Noreaga.
Lil' Kim's group confronted the others about a Capone-N-Noreaga song, "Bang, Bang," that contained an insult to Lil' Kim from rival Foxy Brown. One man was hurt in the shootout that followed.
Hot 97 is the same station where the posses of 50 Cent and The Game traded bullets in February.
At trial, Lil' Kim testified that she had a falling out after the shooting with Butler and with Antoine "Banger" Spain and James "Lil' Cease" Lloyd, the two witnesses who said they saw her with Butler and Jackson.
She said they were freeloading at her New Jersey townhouse. "I was just fed up," she told jurors. "They were taking advantage of me."
Lil' Kim won a Grammy in 2001 for her part in the hit remake of "Lady Marmalade."
Her superstar career began with an impromptu performance for Notorious B.I.G. on the street in their Brooklyn neighborhood. She became "Queen Bee," the only girl in his otherwise all-male clique.
Her 1996 debut album, "Hard Core," was laced with sexually explicit lyrics and became a big hit, thanks to songs like "Crush On You" and others with unmentionable titles.
In the years that followed, plastic surgery helped transform her into a glam fashionista.
In other legal problems, Lil' Kim was sued earlier this year by two men who say she failed to pay them for songwriting and performing services for an album released in 2003. The album, "La Bella Mafia," sold more than 1 million copies.

TERRY McMillan, author of "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" who's divorcing her husband Jonathan Plummer, has an ally in fellow novelist Brenda Stone Browder. Browder, who wrote "On the Up and Up," sent a press release saying: "It's unfortunate to learn that Terry McMillan has joined the forces of women who have been deceived by a partner living 'on the down low.' " (Living "on the down low" is a term used by men who secretly experiment with homosexuality.) McMillan claims in her divorce that Plummer's actually gay and married her to get his green card.

I WANNA BE ANGELINA JOLIE WHEN I GROW UP
Actress Angelina Jolie is adopting a newborn Ethiopian girl orphaned by AIDS People magazine reported on Tuesday. Jolie, who has toured the world as goodwill ambassador for the
United Nations, said the baby would be named Zahara Marley Jolie but would not reveal the child's age, height or weight, People said.
The magazine had no further information on the baby's health but said she had been left an orphan by AIDS.
Jolie, 30, told People that she and her son Maddox, 3, who she adopted from a Cambodian orphanage, were "very happy to have a new addition to our family."
Arrangements for the adoption were expected to be completed Wednesday.
"Angie's over the moon," a source close to the actress told People. "It's a dream come true. She's always wanted to extend her family."
"Angelina's adopting as a single mother and she wants that emphasized," the source told People.
The twice-divorced Jolie has often talked of adopting a second child. After a trip to Ethiopia earlier this year, Jolie said of Maddox: "My son is in love with Africa, so he has been asking for an African brother or sister."

More than a million people tuned in to watch Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston in all of their substance-abused glory last week. The premiere of “Being Bobby Brown” netted 1.1 million viewers, making it the highest-rated series debut on the channel since 2003 and the best Thursday premiere in Bravo's 25-year history – all despite reviews that were about as ugly as Bobby telling Whitney he “had to dig a dootie bubble out of her butt.”
More viewers tuned in to the second episode of "Being Bobby Brown’s" back-to-back premiere, a positive sign for a new series – especially one that was first pitched to its star while he was locked up.
DIDDY OR DIDN'T HE?
*So what important task took P. Diddy away from his scheduled performance at the biggest concert event of all time?
Just days before the Live 8 shows were scheduled to begin around the world Saturday, Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs, who was booked for the Philly gig, released a statement apologizing for having to cancel at the last minute.
"He totally supports the mission of Live 8 and is sorry he couldn't attend,” his rep told the New York Daily News late last week. A plane even flew over the Live 8 venue carrying a banner that read: “Sean Combs…salutes Philly,” according to the paper.
So why couldn’t he make his scheduled appearance?
The reason remains a mystery, however, the paper reports that while the show was going on in the City of Brotherly Love, Diddy and his girlfriend Kim Porter were spotted at a Starbucks in the Hamptons, his annual July getaway spot.

April 2000. I did experience genuine happiness around this time. I became involved with a young man. I was twenty-one, emotionally going on thirty-five, and he had just turned eighteen but physically looked much younger. I had seen him at a party the day before we met. We noticed each other, and those three seconds became six as we moved in slow motion around each other. Just as quickly, I blinked and he was gone. The following night, after another party, a girlfriend said she knew him and would take me to his house. Although he had just turned eighteen, he already had his own home and vehicle and lived very much the life of an adult. We were let in by his cousin, who said Ray was sleeping upstairs. Soon Ray stumbled down the stairs, having just been woken up and coming off a late night out. His eyes opened wide and were immediately drawn to me. Almost like there were clouds under his feet, he floated toward me and we were introduced. “Hi, I’m Ray.” You know him as Ray J, the younger brother of singer Brandy. Not much else about that night was committed to my memory, but it began one of the happiest times in my life. It was easy to fall in love with Ray. He brought back a part of my youth that had been stolen from me years before. Ray was single, with no children, which equaled no drama. And at that time I lived my life the same way. So much so that I never told Ray about my son-or anything else about me for that matter. When I went out with him, I felt ‘official.’ I was a girlfriend, and that’s entirely different from being just a lover.

Ray and I spent months together as I juggled him and Papa like a circus act. My relationship with Ray made Papa uncomfortable and even furious. Papa knew everything about me and accepted me just the way I was, but the one thing he could never tolerate was me loving someone else. And I loved Ray J. It was the first time since Papa and I met that I had given so much attention to another man. It was not normal, and Papa didn’t appreciate the change. Now, when Papa needed me, I wasn’t always available. This new relationship was special to me because with Ray J., I had someone to spend time with in public, as a couple. We held hands and let people know we were together. I was proud of that. Because Ray is a member of a tight-knit, well-known family, it’s not surprising that they didn’t approve of me. They knew I was older than him and they were concerned for him. What’s more, before meeting me, Ray had just gotten out of a relationship with one of the members of the girl group 702. His family had become accustomed to her being a part of his life, and here I was--a virtual stranger. Eventually, however, certain members of his family accepted us and we were free to enjoy our relationship. When Ray and I made love, we would go for hours on end, each hour more satisfying than the last. Being with Ray was always sweet and innocent. His kisses were long and his lips were full and light as they met mine. He was young and still a bit inexperienced, and shied away from oral sex, but he would kiss all around my lower regions and make my body quiver just the same. It was with Ray that I discovered my ability to orgasm without penetration or copulation. I would be excited just from his touch. Ray was with me because he liked me. It was pure and this purity was so new to me that it had become more erotic than being with any other lover. After our lovemaking, we would pass out, him holding me and me feeling loved. Ray and I created a stir around town and people began to wonder what it was that I saw in him. He was so young and wasn’t yet respected as a major player among men. What no one could have possibly realized was that it took a younger man to make me feel young again. We were silly together, and we enjoyed spending long afternoons and nights together. We saw our favorite movies, like Big Momma’s House, starring Martin Lawrence and Nia Long, three or four times and enjoyed them each time as if it were the first time. I felt free with Ray. He awakened a desire in me to get my youth back and hold on tight.

I hopped back on the merry-go-round and ran back to Ray, back to that place where I was safe and where having sex felt natural. Around this time, Ray had begun to work on an album. I remember vividly the night he recorded the song that would change everything. ’Where Do We Go from Here’ was a song about meeting someone and spending so much time with them, even beginning to love them, and wanting to know if it could, or should, be more. Ray stood in the recording booth, belted out that song, and accompanied it with tears. He cried, and I cried witnessing it. I loved this boy so much and wanted nothing more than to stay with him. But I knew that one day, I would have to go, that one day he would know who I had been with and render me unworthy of the affection he was now showing me. As much as I loved Ray, I was too deep in my lifestyle, with an undeniable reputation, to go back. I was still greedy. I wanted it all. I wanted Ray’s love. I wanted the carefree bling-filled lifestyle of hanging out with the likes of Ja and the laid-back, mind-blowing sex and friendship I relished with Papa. And more than anything, I wasn’t ready to settle down. The first time I’d tried to settle down with a man led to my wanting to die. I wasn’t going back there. So I knew the end of me and Ray was near and inevitable. Later that night, when the recording of the song was finished, we lay in bed and played it over and over. We held on to each other and cried silently. It was all so overwhelming, and I knew that night he loved me, too. Before long, it was time for him to go away and record in Atlanta. I knew the separation would be difficult, but I really thought we could make it. What I didn’t know was that by this time, Ray was beginning to find out about me, and we were growing apart. I deeply wished I were someone different--that I was a normal girl without all the baggage, the sordid past. But I was who I was, and I had done what I had done. It was impossible to turn back. I couldn’t undo all of the abuse and the men. If he wanted to leave, I couldn’t stop him. Hell, I couldn’t blame him. What I could do, what I was also very good at, was run. And that’s what I did. I ran right to Papa again. I ran to the man who accepted me and away from the boy I knew couldn’t afford it. He was still in an impressionable stage of his life, and just the way I had swept in and made him think I was wonderful, his friends and peers in the industry would soon prove to him that the image I portrayed was all an illusion. I almost wanted Ray to hate me so we could end it right there, quickly. In order to protect my heart, I wanted to let him go first because I knew he was about to do the same to me. So that’s what I did. Late on a Saturday night, I called Ray and told him all about me and Papa. Naturally, he wasn’t happy. He said some awful things to me, called me horrible names, and slammed down the phone. What he couldn’t have known is that for the next six months, I cried every day for him. I genuinely missed him more than I’d missed any other man I’d ever known. When he hung up that night, it closed the door on a relationship that I still treasure. However, this thing with me and Ja wouldn’t stop. We spent a lot of time together, and as the months passed, he gained more and more notoriety as an artist and as a Hollywood bachelor. There were girls everywhere, and my position in his life became blurred. I was beginning to feel as if my time with him would be up soon. How right I was……

We read about it last week and how she was horrified and how she's calling lawyers, etc., etc., and blaah blaah. Note to Eve: That sex video is floating around. This supermarket tabloid has a process for said situations. It goes through lawyers. No lone individual handles these hotshot type deals. However, in what seems a break with the way things are done over there, this person offered 25 grand. Cash. First they wanted the seller to come to their home. Then they wanted him to meet an assistant. Then there were dozens of phone calls back and forth. Then they said they'd meet the seller at some hidden-away cockamamie diner and hand over the cash in a bag. Then they wanted the seller to meet yet another dude with a Jersey cell number to make yet another deal.
The seller did not like the way things were going down, got freaked, and he and his tape have freshly burrowed
underground.

After months of hearing about the numerous celebrity sexploits of former music video pro Karrine Steffans, her autobiography detailing the encounters will finally hit bookshelves next week.
In HarperCollins’ "Confessions of a Video Vixen," Steffans describes in lurid detail her sexcapades with a number of famous entertainers, including Shaquille O’Neal, Vin Diesel and even your boy, Bobby Brown.
"I wasn't trying to hurt or embarrass anybody with my story," Steffans told Newsweek. "Because that's what it is—my story, not theirs. It describes what happened to me in graphic detail. I'm just putting it out there as plain as I can. But it's only about 40 percent of everything that happened."
Here are a few excerpts from “Confessions of a Video Vixen," courtesy of the New York Daily News:
• Shaquille O'Neal "was charmingly self-effacing about his sexual prowess and wanted to reduce my expectations," she writes. But "compared to other men," she assures readers, "he was nothing to complain about." She also claims that Shaq deposited $10,000 into her bank account the day after they met as a means to keep her on standby.
• Vin Diesel was "a beautiful man ... blessed with an enviable eight-pack and an even more enviable [bleep]."
• Sex with "insatiable" producer Irv Gotti "became more like a boxing match." Steffans also claims Gotti offered her up to his friends.
• After inviting her to his home at 4 a.m., Sean “P. Diddy” Combs kicked his umbrella man Fonzworth Bentley out of a guest bedroom so he and Steffans could handle some business. "You're one of the best," she says P. Diddy told her. Steffans writes: "I said the same to him, when, in actuality, he was average."
• She let Bobby Brown hit it in 2002. Steffans says she never saw him do drugs, but thought he was mentally touched based on an encounter where "he told me he was a member of Al Qaeda and that President Bush was looking for him."
• After Ja Rule broke out one morning before she woke up from their night of passion, "I looked around for something to take with me, something that would smell like him but wouldn't be missed,” she said. “On the floor I found a balled-up sock, and I placed it to my face and got the fix I was searching for."
THE "KEYS" TO HALLE'S SUCCESS
Halle Berry has reportedly cast Alicia Keys in her new film project “Composition of Black and White,” based on Kathryn Talalay’s biography about interracial pioneer Philippa Schuyler.
"I adore Alicia and there's nobody more perfect for it than her," Berry said about Keys’ involvement.
Berry will serve as producer of the film about Schuyler, the daughter of renowned and controversial black journalist George Schuyler and Josephine Cogdell, a blond, blue-eyed Texas heiress and granddaughter of slave owners. Believing that interracial children would invigorate both races, they had Philippa in hopes of solving America’s race problems.
Dubbed the “Little Harlem Genius,” the young girl excelled in the arts and graced the covers of “Time” and “Look” magazines, but America’s racial and gender prejudices forced her sudden departure to Europe. By age 35, she was beginning to embark on a racial catharsis, but in 1967, her life was cut short in a helicopter crash over war-torn Vietnam during an unauthorized mission of mercy.

Mo’Nique’s fiancé Sidney Hicks, also the father of her pending twins, was spotted at the BET Awards on Tuesday. The 37-year-old comedian told TV’s “The Insider” that she’s four months pregnant and does not yet know the sex of either child – but has a feeling that one is a girl. As previously reported, she has pulled out of the upcoming Essence Music Festival in New Orleans on doctor’s orders.
T.I. IS THE NEW I.T.
T.I. got himself a leading role in the new Warner Bros. film set in an Atlanta hip-hip roller-skating rink. The untitled musical comedy, formerly known as “Jellybeans,” will be directed by music video helmer Chris Robinson. T.I. will play Rashad, the head of a roller-skating team, while newcomer Lauren London has been cast as New-New, an employee at the rink who is in love with him. The script, written by Tina Chism & Antwone Fisher, Gina Prince-Bythewood and Joe Robert Cole, is based on material by music producer Dallas Austin and T-Boz of TLC.
NEW JUSTIN MOVIE DELAYED
Justin Timberlake’s film “Alpha Dog,” based on the story of alleged murderer Jesse James Hollywood, may be delayed until after the real Hollywood’s trial in Santa Barbara. James Blatt, a lawyer representing the defendant, told the judge Wednesday that the Nick Cassavetes film could prejudice his client’s trial, according to the “Hollywood Reporter.” Justin plays one of alleged killer’s sidekicks in a gang that kidnapped and tortured California youths. The judge is due to give a verdict on Blatt's request next week.
THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO BORIS
Boris Kodjoe, Idris Elba and Nona Gaye star in the Sony/Rainforest/Screen Gem film, “The Gospel.” The story follows a young singer who turns his back on God and his father’s church when tragedy strikes. He returns years later to find the once powerful congregation in disarray. With his childhood nemesis creating a “new vision” for the church, he is forced to deal with family turmoil, career suicide, and relationship issues that send him on a collision course with redemption or destruction. The film also stars Clifton Powell, Aloma Wright, Donnie McClurkin, Omar Gooding, Tamyra Gray, Hezekiah Walker, Keisha Knight Pulliam and Delores “Mom’ Winans. Music is provided by Kirk Franklin, while featured performers include Yolanda Adams, Martha Munizzi and Fred Hammond.
